The Westin Galleria Dallas was constructed in 1983 as part of the impressive Galleria Complex, which comprises more than 200 shops, restaurants, and attractions. From the beginning, we have been entertaining local society’s upper echelons, with the permanent dance floor of our Dallas Ballroom hosting weddings of prestigious Dallas families and football players.
In 2009, The Westin Galleria Dallas’s multimillion-dollar renovation covered all areas of the hotel, which now exudes a vibrant synergy with the upscale shopping experience just beyond our lobby. The guest rooms were transformed and expanded to incorporate a contemporary and sophisticated feel. New noise-resistant and energy-efficient glass windows were installed, and artwork created by Texas Big Bend photographer favorite James H. Evans now adorns the rooms.
The unique residential ambiance found throughout the hotel owes, in part, to famed designer Marcel Wanders’ Cappellini Big Shadows podium light fixtures, which are showcased in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Also helping to reignite our synergy with the high-end Galleria Complex, British fashion designer Paul Smith created the fabric for the ottomans in our public spaces, while Hella Jongerius, regarded as one of the most innovative and creative designers working today, designed much of the fabric in the new luxury suites.
Our redesign also included the transformation of the 21st floor into a Westin Club Lounge, as well as unique Sky Rooms where guests can enjoy phenomenal views of the Dallas skyline from the most traveled intersection in the city. An expanded WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio was added in keeping with the Westin philosophy of creating an optimal environment for health, tranquility and renewal. Each of the hotel’s fully-renovated, spacious guest rooms boasts the signature Heavenly® Bed as well as a 100% smoke-free environment.
