The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is pleased to announce that it has earned the designation of being a CardioReady® Certified Meeting Space. A CardioReady® certified meeting space is a facility which incorporates the American Heart Association's Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) program, and abides by its guidelines to protect guests, attendees, and employees from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The certification process includes the successful completion of a 20-step review process assuring that American Heart Association guidelines are followed and are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

CardioReady®, the American Heart Association® (AHA) and StarCite® established the CardioReady Certification® program to create greater industry awareness of the need for cardiac emergency readiness programs at hotels and conference centers. Some experts say that Sudden Cardiac Arrest kills over three million people each year. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) provide the only known effective treatment that can be administered to keep SCA victims alive while waiting for professional emergency response. Meeting professionals can easily identify hotels, convention centers and other meeting facilities with AED programs and have received one of five designations, which will be noted on each facility’s detail page.
